Sometimes art appreciation requires some extra travel time, and that’s definitely the case with the solo photography show ‘A Short Stories Book’, which is taking place at HOP – Hub of Photography, located on the 3rd floor of MUNX2 at Seacon Square. This solo show by Namoh Kongdhana is a photographic exploration of fantasy stories, presented through a sensationalised surrealistic perspective. It’s a unique approach, that lets viewers interpret these familiar tales in a new light. Born in 1998, Namoh is a graduate of Central Saint Martins and has had her photographs exhibited in The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. She also expresses herself through the medium of cinema, and her short films have screened at various international festivals – landing her a spot as a finalist in the Venice Shorts Film Fest, and a semi-finalist at the Montreal Independent Film Festival. In all her artistic pursuits she loves experimenting with materials and collages, seeking inspiration in unexpected places.
