Debuting this month, Balenciaga’s XX bag revisits the now-iconic Hourglass bag style for the new season. Unlike the subversive lines of its predecessor, the sleek hobo spin-off plays it subtle, despite its sensuous name drawn from the symbolisation of “kiss, kiss” in texting. Its wide trapezoidal body with rounded corners fills the negative space of the Hourglass silhouette, while another iteration has a flap with curves simulating the Hourglass’s distinctive arched base.
