THE FRENCH OPEN
On the annual tennis tournament calendar, The French Open is one of the most significant competitions. This two-week event is held each year at the Stade Roland-garros in Paris, beginning in late May. Interestingly, both the tournament and venue are named after the French aviator Roland Garros, and the games are still played on a clay court. This year, the controversial Novak Djokovic – a two-time French Open champion, with a total of 20 Grand Slam titles – is scheduled to compete.
