The winners of the 11th edition of the annual White Elephant Art Awards have been named, and now these works are on display for the next few months in the 9th floor gallery space at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC). This year’s show offers more art than usual, as visitors will be able to check out not only the 35 artworks that won awards in this year’s competition, but also 21 additional artworks that won awards during the 10th edition of the event (which never had a proper showing due to the pandemic situation last year). The theme and the name of the 2022 show is ‘Endless Giving’, and this varied collection – which brings together realistic and figurative art pieces – celebrates Thailand’s tranquility, natural wealth, and the kindness, and generosity of its people. Guided by positivity, these sculptures, prints, and mixed media works all strive to underscore the nation’s more harmonious side.
