FUTURE SHAPES: DOODLE ART EXHIBITION
Until May 29
Bangkok’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) is commemorating its 10th anniversary with a new exhibition entitled ‘Future Shapes: Doodle Art Exhibition’. This playful exhibit explores the current thoughts and expressions of 13 young Thai artists – the youngest ever to be shown at the museum – as well as their aspirations for the future. Each is a professional and/or aspiring artist, and each gives viewers a glimpse into their creative mind by creating dreamlike worlds composed of intricate doodles. Unrestricted by any one style, these artworks range from the playful and colourful, to the bizarre and foreboding. Admission is 100 Baht (free for children under 120cm), and the proceeds will go towards SATI, a non-profit organisation that aims to improve healthcare and education for at-risk and disadvantaged children and youth. Projects range from clean water programs in Northern Thailand for underserved schools, to counselling and occupational training for at-risk youths in central Bangkok.
