Bangkok’s annual festival of music and dance makes grand return
It’s the season for Bangkok’s annual food festivals, American violinist Joshua Bell performs, disco legends Bony M are in town and Central Group consolidates its CSR activities
Indulge in the spectacular world of performing arts with the much-anticipated arrival of talented musicians and dancers from across the globe as they take to the stage in Bangkok as part of Bangkok’s 20th International Festival of Dance and Music.
Once again the festival features yet another line up of exciting performances ranging from ballet to magic shows and symphony orchestras to acrobats. Acts appearing at this year’s event, which runs from September 12 to October 18, include the historically acclaimed San Carlo Opera from Naples and its orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta performing Bizet’s Carmen and the Moscow State Classical Ballet of Russia dancing The Firebird, The Legend of Swan Lake and the Ugly Duckling and The Nutcracker. From Bollywood showstoppers to Argentinean tango, expect a memorable showcase given by inspiring talent from around the world. All performances take place at the Thailand Cultural Centre.
