World-renowned vi­o­lin­ist to per­form in Bangkok

Grammy award­win­ning Amer­i­can vi­o­lin­ist Joshua Bell is head­ing to town to join the Royal Bangkok Sym­phony Orches­tra for what is sure to be a mem­o­rable evening of clas­si­cal mu­sic. One of the most cel­e­brated vi­o­lin­ists in the world, Bell was named the mu­sic di­rec­tor of London’s Academy of St Martin in the Fields in 2011—be­com­ing only the sec­ond per­son to hold the post af­ter the academy’s founder, Sir Neville Mar­riner. With a ca­reer span­ning 30 years as a soloist, cham­ber mu­si­cian, record­ing artist and con­duc­tor, Bell has recorded more than 40 CDs gar­ner­ing Grammy and Mer­cury award la­bels among oth­ers and is an ex­clu­sive Sony clas­si­cal artist. Vir­tu­oso Bell and the Royal Bangkok Sym­phony Orches­tra will be con­ducted by Charles Olivier­iMun­roe. The per­for­mance takes place at 8pm on Septem­ber 4 at the Thai­land Cul­tural Cen­tre.
