Aperol, the iconic Italian liqueur, and Italasia Trading, launched the Aperol Spritz pop-up bar on 16th November 2018 at the Le Méridien Bangkok, offering guests the chance to win a one-night stay in the hotel’s Circular Room, inclusive of the breakfast buffet at Latest Recipe for two (worth 15,300 baht). The Aperol Spritz pop-up bar is complemented by classic Italian cicchetti bar snacks by Marco Cammarata, executive chef of Le Méridien Bangkok. Guest mixologists will curate the delicious drinks it serves until the end of April 2019. This is a rare opportunity to taste the authentic Aperitivo Italiano at the hotel on Surawong Road.

Aperol is characterised by its bright orange colour and its unique taste, which is attributed to a secret recipe that has remained unchanged since its inception. The heady mix includes infusions of selected ingredients such as high-quality fruits— orange and rhubarb in particular—and many other herbs and roots, each in perfect proportion. Aperol Spritz, the brand’s signature drink, is lively and evokes the chic Italian lifestyle. Its unique taste is deliciously Italian and yet it oozes international appeal.

The quintessential apertif, Aperol Spritz is an iconic drink that is among the most consumed cocktails on the Italian peninsula. It features Prosecco and Aperol poured over ice in a wine glass with an added dash of soda and a garnish of zesty sliced orange to finish. Light, sparkling and refreshing, it is the ideal drink for every social occasion: it can be enjoyed as a stimulant to the appetite before lunch or dinner in the true style of an Italian apéritif, as a lighter option at an afterwork get-together with colleagues and friends, or as an accompaniment to food. Aperol Spritz has fast become a cult drink outside Italy, extending to neighbouring European countries and even across continents to the Asia Pacific region. n
