Sinoz Kozmetik doubles turnover

- LEYLA ILHAN

SPENDING on cosmetics has continued to rise despite the coronavirus outbreak. The increasing demand has doubled turnover for Turkey-based cosmetics company Sinoz Kozmetik. The rapid growth comes after a five-year period in which the company grew 100 percent, Yasin Corekci, its Chairman, said. “In 2019, we generated a TRY 60 million turnover and we will double our turnover by the end of this year,” he said. Due to the outbreak, the demand for e-commerce increased not only in cosmetics but in all sectors. Customer demand for the company’s products increased as a result of hygienic packaging and fast delivery services. The increasing time spent indoors and the need for hygiene accelerated demand for the cosmetic sector as well, according to Corekci.

Hairdressers and beauty parlors were closed due to the outbreak and this led people to gravitate towards home care products. As a result, Sinoz Kozmetik recorded significant increases in sales. “For example, sales of basic hygiene products including cologne, hand creams, and shower gels increased by 70 percent,” Corekci said. Also, the company’s aloe vera rose and gold aura body peeling products sales rose 120 percent since there was no access to manicure and pedicure services during the lockdowns. Demand for Sinoz Kozmetik facial masks, peeling products, and night and day creams increased by 40 percent as people continued their professional care routines at their homes. Corekci also said sales of skin creams and whiteners rose by 10 percent. The company exports nearly 30 percent of its production, Corekci added, and aims to become a leading name in the global industry. “Awareness of our brand and demand for our products are very high in many regions from Europe to the Middle East.”

MEN AND BABY CARE PRODUCTS ON THE WAY

The company aims to introduce new products under the categories of Sinoz Man and Sinoz Baby in 2021. According to Corekci, male customers are interested in nearly 30 percent of the company’s products. “Clay masks, creams for blemishes and spa sets are popular among male customers as well as female customers,” he said.

NEW CARGO COMPANY FOR FAST DELIVERIES

Sinoz Kozmetik has been developing its e-commerce activities since the day it was established, Corekci said, adding that the company focused solely in its online platform at the end of 2019 after pulling its products from other platforms. The shifting demands and the need for fast response prompted the company to establish its cargo department for same-day deliveries in some areas in Istanbul. Corekci said that the company completes infrastructure developments, Sinoz Kozmetik will be able to make deliveries to every region of Istanbul.

Yasin Corekci, Sinoz Kozmetik chairman: “In 2019 we generated a TRY 60m turnover and we will double our turnover by the end of this year.*
