R&D EXPENDITURE REACHED TRY 14.9BN IN 2019
Expenditures from the central administration budget in 2019 for research and development reached TRY 14.924 billion, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), representing a 0.35 percent share of R&D of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The highest expenditure was made for guideline improvement (financed from university funds) at 43.6 percent, followed by defense at 18.7 percent, industrial production and technology at 10.6 percent, guideline improvement (financed from other resources) at 7.1 percent and transportation, telecommunication, and other infrastructure at 5.1 percent.
