Turkey to host defense giants
to open doors for the 15th TURKEY PREPARES
International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF), in parallel with the recent developments in the country’s defense industry. The biyearly organized IDEF will be held on May 25-28 at TUYAP Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul.
Considered as one of the world’s major international defense industry fairs, the IDEF’21 will give Turkish supply authorities a chance to gather with foreign delegations. In this context, the fair is expected to contribute to the global and regional peace by the support of contacts to be made between Turkish public authorities and domestic and foreign company representatives as well as delegations.
The fair also prepares to gather the sector. Signatures are expected to be put to important collaborations at IDEF’21, in which national and international agreements are made and signature ceremonies are conducted every year. Within this frame, the IDEF’21 aims to become ‘the trade base of the defense industry’ by surpassing over 100 signature ceremonies, meetings and promotions performed at the previous fair. The IDEF’19 hosted 1,061 participating companies from 53 countries, 76,010 professional visitors from 96 countries and press members from 26 countries.
352 high-level delegates and 341 delegations from 148 have been invited to the IDEF’21 so far. Invitations for delegations continue to be sent based on reciprocity. The fair hosted 588 high-level delegates and 151 delegations from 3 international institutions and 70 countries in 2019. The IDEF’21 will be held under the auspices of the Presidency. The biyearly fair will be hosted by the Ministry of National Defense under the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, which is also organized by TUYAP Fairs and Exhibitions •rganizations Inc.
