NON̞DOMESTIC PRODUCER PRICES HIT AN ALL̞TIME HIGH

The non-domestic producer price index (ND -PPI) increased by 87.64% in December 2021, compared to the same month of 2020, according to the Turkish Statistica­l Institute (TurkStat). The index also rose by 25.92% month over month in December. Thus, the ND-PPI has reached its highest level since 2010, when it was first calculated. The index surged by 41.01% in December on a 12-month rolling average. For the two main sectors – mining and quarrying, and manufactur­ing – the ND -PPU increased by 84.76% and 87.69% on an annual basis, respective­ly. Monthly, the ND -PPI for those two sectors was up by 27.73% and 25.88% monthly, respective­ly.
