SPANISH FERROVIAL TO PARTNER IN OPERATION OF DALAMAN AIRPORT

Spain-based Ferrovial Group has acquired a 60% share in YDA Group’s airport operating subsidiary YDA Airport Investment and Management Inc., which holds the operating rights for Dalaman Airport until 2042, for EUR 140m.

The process to hand over operation of the airport will be completed in the first half of 2022 when necessary approvals are received. Dalaman Airport will be operated jointly by YDA Airport Investment and Management Inc. and Ferrovial Group’s airport operation subsidiary Ferrovial Airports, according to a statement from YDA Group. “This agreement is also important as an indicator of the ongoing credibility of the Turkish economy according to foreign investors,” said Huseyin Arslan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of YDA Group. Ferrovial also operates Heathrow Airport in London. “YDA Group has extensive experience building infrastructure and operating within the scope of the PPP (public-private partnership) model. That’s why it is an ideal partner in this project,” said Luke Bugeja, CEO of Ferrovial Airports.
