AMAZON PLANS OVER USD 100M INVESTMENT IN LOGISTICS BASE IN TURKEY

-

The U.S.-based e-commerce platform plans to invest over USD 100m in its first logistics base in Turkey, which will be set up in Tuzla, in Istanbul. The logistics base will become operational in the last quarter of this year. “This investment is important for our logistics infrastructure and the e-commerce industry, which has accelerated in recent years and will strengthen further in domestic and export markets,” said Ahmet Burak Daglioglu, President of the Presidential Investment Office. The logistics base, which will create over 1,000 new jobs in the next year, will help to meet increased customer demand. Amazon has begun the recruitment process for the logistics base in fields such as engineering, human resources, accounting, operation, and information technologies (IT). The recruitment process for the customer services and logistics teams will begin in the coming months, according to Stefano Perego, Vice President of European Union Operations of Amazon.
