AGRICULTURE INPUT PRICES SKYROCKET IN JANUARY

The Agricultural Input Price Index (Agriculture-IPI) surged by 57.26% in January, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). The Agriculture-IPI also rose by 10.12% monthly and 31.35% over a 12-month average in January. As for changes in critical groups: goods and services contributing to the agricultural investment index surged by 36.10% year over year, while goods and services currently consumed in the agricultural index jumped 60.78% in the same period. Monthly changes for the same critical groups are as follows: goods and services contributing to the agricultural investment index rose by 6.99%, while goods and services currently consumed in the agricultural index increased by 10.57% in January.
