ERCIYES MOUNTAIN TO HOST 2.5 MILLION VISITORS IN 2025

Erciyes Mountain plans to host 2.5 million annual visitors by 2025, according to Dr. Murat Cahit Cingi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kayseri Erciyes AS, a subsidiary of the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality. The mountain welcomes 2.25 million domestic and foreign tourists annually. “Erciyes, which has become a mountain where nearly 200,000 people can ski, is expected to host over 2 million guests at the end of the 2021-2022 ski season,” said Cingi. Total investment to be made by the public and private sector in the mountain in the coming period will exceed EUR 450m, while the municipality has already invested EUR 200m to date. The Erciyes High-Altitude Camping Complex, which was built to benefit all sports in the summer, will enter into service in summer 2023. “Considering the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Kayseri, winter tourism creates a direct income of about USD 100m in the DecemberApril period,” Cingi noted.
