CARREFOURSA TO LAUNCH 1,000TH STORE THIS YEAR

Sabanci Holding ’s supermarket subsidiary CarrefourSA plans to increase its number of stores to 1,054 by the end of this year, according to Kutay Kartallioglu, CEO of CarrefourSA. The company, which has included tradespeople in its growth strategy and increased the number of branches to 754 by granting 80 tradespeople franchises, will expand this business model further. CarrefourSA also aims to grant 250 tradespeople franchises and will launch 50 additional branches this year. Thus, the company will increase its number of stores to 1,054. “We’ll further prioritize our growth strategy with tradespeople in the coming period and launch two to three stores every day,” said Kartallioglu. CarrefourSA has also focused on exports this year. “CarrefourSA currently purchases around EUR 200m goods from suppliers in Turkey. We’ve set an export goal for the first time this year,” Kartallioglu added.

The company continues to develop exports to countries such as France, Italy, Mongolia, Georgia, and Israel. YENER KARADENIZ
