ELGINKAN TO SET UP USD 250M IN FACTORIES
A company that operates in a range of sectors with 19 subsidiaries and around 3,000 employees, Elginkan Community will build vitrified and ceramic tile manufacturing plants with a USD 250m investment in Bilecik, according to Gaye Akcen, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Elginkan Community and the Elginkan Community Foundation. The company, which has acquired the majority of the land in the Organized Industrial Zone in Sogut, plans to build three new facilities. “The production plants will create around 2,500 new jobs, at minimum,” said Akcen. The company will begin construction with the administrative building. “We’ll start the construction of the vitrified manufacturing plant in the second week of September as there is a high demand for it. The facility, which will employ 800 to 1,200 people, will enter into service at the beginning of 2024,” Akcen added. Elginkan Holding, which incorporates brands such as E.C.A., ARSEL, ODOKSAN, and SPIL SEREL, manufactures products such as valves and armatures, ceramic sanitary ware, central and individual heaters, coolers, gas, and electric water heaters, white and brown goods, pig casting products, patterns, food, construction, and industrial raw materials.
