UNEMPLOYMENT RATE REMAINS STEADY

The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 11.4% in March, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased by 0.4 points to 11.5% in March, compared to the previous month. The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over rose by 19,000 to 3.8 million monthover-month in March. The number of unemployed people in the same age group surged by 153,000 to 3.89 million in March in the same period, according to the seasonally adjusted data. The unemployment rate dropped by 1.6 points in March, compared to the same month last year.
