UAV ANKA TO BE MANUFACTURED IN KAZAKHSTAN
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) and the Kazakh state-owned Kazakhstan Engineering have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly manufacture the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Anka in Kazakhstan, according to a statement from TUSAS. As part of the deal, the parties will collaborate in technology transfer, including maintenance and repair. “Our commercial and friendship ties with Kazakhstan will further be strengthened with the agreement, which will contribute to the defense and aerospace industry of the region,” said Temel Kotil, CEO of TUSAS. With this agreement, Kazakhstan has become the first production base of the UAV Anka abroad. Thus, the first steps have been taken to train human resources in this field in Kazakhstan and develop the country’s UAV production capability. TUSAS inked a UAV export deal with Kazakhstan last year.
