TURKISH AIRLINES LAUNCHES FLIGHTS TO NEW DESTINATIO­NS

The national flag carrier Turkish Airlines is set to launch flights to four new destinatio­ns in four different countries, according to a statement from the company. Turkey’s flagship airline will begin flights to the northweste­rn U.S. city of Seattle on May 27 and South Sudan’s capital Juba on June 1, Bilal Eksi, CEO of Turkish Airlines wrote on Twitter. In addition, flights will start to Bukhara, Uzbekistan, on June 7 and Tivat on Montenegro’s southweste­rn coast on June 11. Turkish Airlines saw a net profit of USD 161m in the first quarter of this year, while its January-March revenue totaled USD 3.1bn. The airline carried a total of 12.7 million passengers during the first quarter, with an occupancy rate of 83.6% on domestic flights and 68.6% on internatio­nal flights.
