SUNEXPRESS EYES 10 MILLION PASSENGERS THIS YEAR

SunExpress, the joint venture of the national flag carrier Turkish Airlines and the German Lufthansa, aims to carry 10 million passengers this year, according to Max Kownatzki, CEO of SunExpress. The company, which carried 6 million passengers last year, has 67 aircraft in its fleet. “Moreover, we operate 12 aircraft of the Turkish Airlines subsidiary Anadolu Jet. 17 more aircraft will be added within six months,” said Kownatzki. “We rapidly respond to increasing demand. We aim to carry 10 million passengers this year. 3.6 million of them will be carried from Izmir,” the SunExpress CEO added. The firm will have the largest flight network on the Izmir line, with eight new routes and 4,000 additional flights this summer. “We fly from Izmir to 15 cities in Turkey. Beirut, Milano, Nantes, Manchester, Tel Aviv, Budapest and Skopje are among the new internatio­nal destinatio­ns added to the Izmir line,” Kownatzki noted.
