-

Aviation seats produced by TSI Aviation Seats Production Industry and Trade Co. Inc., established as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines Turkish Technic Inc. and Assan Hanil Automotive Industry and Trade Inc., are featured in the catalogue Airbus presents to its customer airline companies.

With the agreement signed with Airbus, TSI produced seats qualified to be featured in the Airbus BFE (Buyer Furnished Equipment) catalogue.

With the Certified Seat Supplier Agreement, the Economy Class seat models Skysofa and Epianka, produced by TSI Seats, will be featured in the catalogue for Airbus’s A350 XWB, A330, and A320 aircraft models. The Elesa S model will be featured in the catalogue’s future products. When the certification process of Royalux, TSI Seats’ first Business Class product, is completed, this model will also be featured in the catalogue.

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee M. İlker Aycı assessing the agreement said, “In order to provide logistic support for the sector, we adopted a more active role with our partner company Assan Hanil and broke new ground in the history of Turkish civil aviation in 2011 with a great initiative. Founded to design, manufacture, modify, and commercialize aviation seats and spare parts, today, TSI Aviation Seats has become a certified supplier for Airbus.

We are happy to see the fruits of this prosperous cooperation. As the first and only aircraft seat manufacturer of Turkey, TSI’s goal is to become one of the top five aviation seat brands in the global market by 2023.” Kibar Holding CEO Haluk Kayabaşı stated, “This catalogue not only provides an opportunity to be visible to suppliers, but also brings the prestige of being approved by Airbus. Taking into consideration Airbus catalogue’s share in the total aircraft orders and the predicted increase in the retrofit projects in conjuction with other projects of TSI Seats, we aim to reach a total value of exports worth over 100 million USD in 2023.”

Skysofa Economy Class seats manufactured for wide-body aircraft were first delivered to Airbus in September 2015. Epianka began to fly last year after receiving the necessary certificates for different types of narrow-body aircraft and were used in Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft in July of this year. Deliveries for the A350 wide-body aircraft began in the third quarter of 2019.

TSI Aviation Seats Production Industry and Trade Co. Inc. manufactures high-quality, light, innovative, and competitively priced products focusing on weight that directly effects the fuel consumption of the aircraft.
