Gamze Okumuş Solmaz | The illustration series “Archiatric” of Federico Babina makes us think about the relationship between architecture and psychiatry in an interdisciplinary way. Possible to interpret as translations through diagrammatic expressions, these drawings use a simple house icon to represent architecture. This is not a coincidence: the soul and the home have an intimate relationship, which is apparent in various disciplines. One can easily trace it in Behçet Necatigil’s poems, Bachelard’s writings or the movie “Psycho”. All in all, the success of Babina’s illustrations lies in the way he senses these relationships between disciplines, captures the essence and represents it mindfully.
