BRITISH PM URGES ISRAEL TO END VIOLENT ATTACKS AGAINST PALESTINIANS
BRITISH Prime Minister Theresa May said on Tuesday that Israeli aggression should stop in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Gaza experienced its bloodiest massacre since 2014 on Monday, as the Israeli military killed at least 62 Palestinians and wounded more than 2,400 others as protesters streamed to the frontier for the climax of a six-week demonstration as the United States prepared to open its embassy in Jerusalem.
Following her meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in London, the British PM said that it is in everyone’s interest for peace and stability in the occupied Palestinian territories and Israel and called for an independent and transparent investigation of the latest events in Gaza.
She said that such violence is destructive to peace efforts, and Israel’s use of live fire was deeply troubling.
Since the border rallies began on March 30, more than 100 Palestinian demonstrators have been killed by cross-border Israeli gunfire, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
