A HIGH- ranking PKK terrorist was killed in southeastern Turkey’s Şırnak province on Oct. 31, the Interior Ministry announced yesterday.

Bedirhan Abo, codenamed “Masiro” was one of seven terrorist organization members who were killed as part of a security operation in the rural parts of southeast Turkey, in the Mount Judi area.

According to the Interior Ministry, the terrorist Abo was the so-called field supervisor of the Botan historical district of the region, within the borders of Şırnak province. He was also on the Ministry’s most wanted list and a TL 4,000,000 ($747,560) reward had been placed on his head.

Abo was on the red list of wanted terrorists. The wanted list is divided into five color-coded categories, with red marking the most wanted, followed by blue, green, orange and grey, depending on the sensitivity and seriousness of their criminal activity.

Meanwhile, another terrorist who was on the grey list was also killed in Diyarbakır’s Dicle district on Friday, as part of ongoing operations against the PKK, a group recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States, the EU and NATO.

In recent months, more than a dozen high-ranking PKK terrorists have been killed during the counterterrorism operations and security forces’ deliberate targeting of the high profile PKK terrorists.
