Turkish tech firm has ‘smart eye’ for retail sector in 22 countries

-

THE RETAIL industry was among the sectors that underwent the fastest transformation during the coronavirus pandemic period with many retailers having accelerated their digital transformation investments.

Turkish technology company, Vispera has been providing solutions for image processing and data analytics in the retail industry in Turkey for a long time.

Vispera’s artificial intelligence (AI) solution, which acts as the smart eye of retail companies, is used in 22 countries. Operating in many countries including Turkey, India, Romania, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Brazil, Germany and Poland, the company quickly accelerated steps to become a global enterprise during the pandemic.

Expansion abroad, R&D financing and investment resources that will support this initiative play an important role in Vispera’s growth plans. Meanwhile, the company’s current business development, sales and marketing, operations and product development are well underway.

Under these circumstances, the two founders, Aytül Erçil and Ceyhun Burak Akgül, decided to officially make the shift from coordinated management, which they carried out independently of their positions, to a new model. In this context, Erçil is positioned as Co-CEO focused on international expansion and investment themes, while Akgül also serves as Co-CEO but is responsible for increasing the existing business potential, the evolution of the organization as well as the sales and product strategy.

“The artificial intelligence products and targets we have developed in parallel with our organizational structuring and growth agenda increase the interest we see all over the world,” Erçil said. “We believe that we will find opportunities that will enable us to be more effective and more visible in 2021 by drawing strength from this interest. By making use of these opportunities, we will be one step closer to our goal of becoming a global technology company.”

Akgül explained the responsibility they took. “Vispera is an institution that evolves its organization organically, so changes are always possible according to developing and differing needs. However, we do not anticipate any other radical changes in the near future (in 2021),” he noted.

FEMALE EMPLOYEES

Vispera recognizes the importance of diversity in participation and some 43 of its 112 employees are women, representing 30% of the company’s employees in executive, director and senior positions. Having spent 2020 focusing on organizational growth and restructuring, Vispera expanded its workforce by 30% in the pandemic and reshuffled the structure within the company. Now with growing interest from all over the world in its AI products, Vispera is rapidly approaching its goal of becoming a global technology company.
