AS ONE of Turkey’s leading information and communication technologies companies, Türk Telekom is leading the next generation city transformation with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

With the solutions implemented in 10 cities with the New Generation Urbanism Initiative, energy savings were achieved in all areas of smart living – from traffic to public safety and from irrigation to lighting.

Türk Telekom ensures the effective use of public resources with the data it interprets on the IoT (Internet of Things) platform, while also supporting a sustainable urban life.

Türk Telekom’s 55 smart solutions implemented in 10 cities in the fields of new generation transportation, energy, environment, health and security contribute to the construction of sustainable and safe cities with a high quality of life.

In cities equipped with smart transportation systems, the loss of time in traffic, the number of accidents and delays caused by road construction are greatly reduced. Türk Telekom has recently implemented the “New Generation Bicycle Project” with Aksaray Municipality. With the project, an alternative, environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation opportunity was provided to the residents of the city.

Within the scope of Türk Telekom’s new generation urban planning efforts, positive results were obtained in traffic in Karaman, Kars, Antalya, Kırşehir, Mersin, Edirne and Denizli with the Electronic Supervision System, and in Elazığ with the New Generation Junction.

In addition, Kütahya Municipality brought new generation city solutions such as Public Wi-Fi and New Generation City Furniture, while the number of municipalities whose “Digital and Interactive Municipality” vision was supported by social media management software increased to 29.

Wi-Fi service, which is the primary need in new generation cities, was offered free of charge to 1.2 million users in open areas with a total of 523 TB of data usage.
