STANDING BY QUAKE VICTIMS

Following the earthquake that occurred on Feb. 6, 2023, the Coca-Cola System swiftly rushed to aid the affected regions. Support efforts for the disaster area began rapidly from the first day of the earthquake, with new and ongoing projects led by the Coca-Cola System designed and expanded to provide support to the region. As part of the “Rebuild Life Projects” initiated for the earthquake-stricken areas, the “Container Sales Points Support” project was launched to provide support to merchants whose businesses were destroyed in the four most severely affected provinces, offering a total of 70 container shops as grants in partnership with the Anadolu Foundation and Toktut Association.

BICYCLES TO SOLIDARITY CENTERS

At the “All Hands” event in Çeşme, 70 bicycles were gifted to women’s and children’s solidarity centers established by the Foundation for the Support of Women’s Work (KEDV) in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay. In collaboration with the KEDV and the Chain Breaking Women Association, eight volunteer women received training to become “bicycle ambassadors” in the Kahramanmaraş container city. Additionally, 20 women and 20 children received training on practical, theoretical and mechanical bicycle skills. Continuing efforts to combat the effects of the earthquake, the Coca-Cola System persists in working according to current needs.

TOUCHING LIVES OF 500,000 WOMEN

Coca-Cola Türkiye, in collaboration with its bottling partner Coca-Cola İçecek, supports local communities, particularly women, to actively participate in social and economic life. Initiated in 2015 with the financial support of the Coca-Cola Foundation, the “My Sister Project” has touched the lives of 500,000 women across Türkiye over nine years. The scope of the “My Sister Project” expands annually, and as of 2023, the project entered a new phase with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Private Sector Volunteers Association (ÖSGD), aiming to empower young women aged 18-25 to achieve their dream careers, inspire each other, identify their needs for a successful career and strengthen themselves.

SUPPORTING YOUNG WOMEN

In 2023, within the project framework, the “My Sister Scholarship Program,” “My Sister Empowerment Program” and “My Sister Stars Team Program” supported nearly 50,000 young women in various fields. Under the “My Sister Scholarship Program” in partnership with the Turkish Education Foundation, educational scholarships were initially provided to 300 young women from the earthquake-affected areas. Mentorship programs supported the professional and personal development of young women by experienced professionals, while the “Discover Yourself ” program developed with the Institute of Behavioral Sciences offered resilience and personality inventory tests to young women for free. Inspiring talks were organized with the “Strength from My Sister Seminars.” Moreover, through the Stars Team Program in collaboration with the Ahbap Platform, financial and in-kind support is provided to 20 successful young women in sports, arts and social benefit areas to further their success and inspire their sisters across Türkiye.
