Turkish Airlines’ passengers decrease, Pegasus’ rise
Turkish Airlines’ passenger number decreased 8 percent to 13 million in the first quarter. According to first-quarter traffic results, the passenger-occupancy rate increased by 0.4 percentage points to 74.2 percent. The decrease in the number of passengers was 2.9 percent on domestic flights and 11.8 percent on international flights. Discount carrier Pegasus’ passengers rose by 7.4 percent to 5.76 million in the same period. The occupancy rate increased by 4.79 points to 80.9 percent. The number of passengers increased 4.3 percent to 3.63 million on domestic routes and by 12.6 percent to 2.11 million on international flights.
