More than half of Turkey’s young people, those between the ages of 15 and 24, say they are “happy,” a new survey by TurkStat showed.

Figures in the survey compiled between 2015 and 2016 showed that youth constitute 16.3 percent of the population of Turkey, which is fast becoming an older country. As for happiness, which could have been overshadow­ed by a string of terror attacks and a coup attempt in the past two years, 65 percent of those between the ages of 15 and 24 say they are happy.
