U.S. lifts ban on electronic­s on flights from Turkey

A three-month ban on bringing electronic devices, such as laptops, into aircraft cabins on flights from Turkey to the United States was lifted on Wednesday, said Turkish Airlines in a statement.

The United States in March imposed the ban on direct flights originatin­g from Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport and nine other airports in eight countries amid fears that bombs could be concealed in the devices. Flag carrier Turkish Airlines accepted passengers with electronic devices onto its flight from Ataturk to New York’s John F. Kennedy Internatio­nal Airport on Wednesday morning, said the flag carrier.
