IMF hails Turkey’s export recovery

The Internatio­nal Monetary Fund (IMF) updated its World Economic Outlook (WEO) report on July 24, where it included Turkey’s assessment under the “Emerging and Developing Europe” section. Predicting that growth in the relevant country group will accelerate in line with the positive expectatio­ns regarding Turkey, a statement said: “Turkey’s exports strongly recovered at the end of 2016 and in the first quarter of 2017.” The report also pointed out that foreign demand for Turkish goods could rise with positive expectatio­ns for eurozone countries.
