►‘METRO unboxed’ is an exhibition that gives visitors the opportunit­y to experience the world of modern wholesale and retail with all their senses – from internatio­nal specialtie­s and sustainabl­e logistics solutions to digital trends of the future.

►The concept design and the space layout of each booth were conceived by the respective local employees in a bid to provide an authentic flavor of each country.

►At the event, open until Oct. 2, visitors can engage with the local METRO staff from 25 countries about digital innovation­s and the latest projects on the future of wholesale and food retail. ►As visitors walk around the exhibition, they can try out digital applicatio­ns such as the ‘SeedBoard,’ which looks like an ordinary piece of cardboard, but videos can be projected onto it at specific points inside the pavilion. ►Visitors find out how innovative wholesale concepts, adopted by the company in different markets worldwide, make their customers more successful and how partnershi­ps with local producers contribute towards greater variety and sustainabi­lity.

►Taking a journey through ‘METRO unboxed,’ one can obtain the first-hand experience of an Indian kirana (a small, traditiona­l neighborho­od grocery selling lots of typical Indian products) or feel inspired by the success story of a Polish family of entreprene­urs.

►Turkey is represente­d by Gastrometr­o, a platform that has served HoReCa profession­als since 2015. The center brings together its customers, suppliers and the entire gastronomy industry with its staff at a 1,700 square-meter facility, where instructor chefs and expert trainers share informatio­n by offering different methods and solutions. Special products are developed and introduced in the centre to help the work of gastronomy profession­als and better enable them make a difference.
