S&P: Turkey poses highest risk among emerging economies

Rising interest rates n mature econom es are exposing emerging economies to new credit risks, especially economies exposed to loans in US dollars, according to a report published by Standard & Poor’s on Nov. 6. The report suggests Turkey - the only EM country to remai n in the previ ous li st - poses the highest risk among five emerging economies including Argent na, Egypt, Pakistan and Qatar. Qatar is less of a danger because although it is highly exposed to dollar zed debt it has a strong forei gn account surplus.
