Sonatrach will build petrochemi­cal facility in Turkey

Algeria’s oil and gas company, Sonatrach, has agreed with Turkish firms Ronesans and Bayegan to build a petrochemi­cal facility worth $1 billion in Turkey, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Feb. 27. The facility will produce 450,000 tonnes of propylene a year, using raw material supplied by Algeria, Erdogan added. He said the plant will also reduce Turkey’s dependence on foreign petrochemi­cals by 25 percent.
