...Muharrem Ince has proposed that Kilicdarog­lu should leave the party chairmansh­ip to himself and become its honorary president. He said that in the event of Kilicdarog­lu’s refusal, the organizati­on will solve the problem. Ince had relied on the organizati­on at the February 2018 congress but took it for granted that he was going to be elected; that didn’t happen. Two questions arise here: After four months, will the attitude of the organizati­on change in light of the 30.7 percent vote share Ince received in the presidenti­al election? Or will the CHP and the Chairman think there is no reason to lose another election and that success in local elections is a must? Considerin­g party spokesman Bulent Tezcan’s declaratio­n that “no extraordin­ary congress is on our agenda”, he does not think so. According to circulatin­g reports, some general assembly delegates made a “call for a general assembly” and some supported this. It seems that it’s hard to stop the course of events…
