ABDULKADIR SELVI As the Trump danger grows, a parallel anti-Trump block is also emerging...As relations with the United States deteriorate, relations with the European Union must be developed as soon as possible...In this process, President Erdogan’s official visit to Germany on September 28-29 will be important. The Erdogan-Merkel debate does not only mean the creation of a “coalition” of anti-Trumpian fronts; it may also provide an opportunity for the revival of Turkey-EU relations, which has been on pause for a long time. The problems that have been damaging the Turkey-EU relationship are beginning to be solved, such as the release of the Greek soldiers and the release of Taner Kilic, Amnesty International’s Turkey Branch Honorary President. We cannot fix the EU relationship without correcting our human rights record. With the release of Osman Kavala and CHP deputy Enis Berberoglu, a new page on relations with the EU can be opened . ... We can return to the days in which our pockets were full of dollars and leave the days of capital running away if Turkey goes back to the EU agenda.
