Turkey’s Central Bank holds policy rate constant

The Turk sh Central Bank on Thursday kept ts one-week repo rate – cons dered the Bank’s pol cy rate - constant at 24 percent. “Recently released data show that the rebalanc ng trend n the economy has become more not ceable,” the bank sa d n a statement after ts Monetary Pol cy Comm ttee meet ng. Pr ce ncreases have shown a general zed pattern across subsectors, reflect ng the movements n exchange rates, t added. Thursday’s comm ttee meet ng s the last of e ght scheduled for 2018. At ts last meet ng, on October 25, the bank also kept nterest rates unchanged, after h k ng ts pol cy rate by 625 base po nts, from 17.75 percent to 24 percent, on September 13.
