Economic confidence rises in December

The econom c conf dence ndex n Turkey was h gher month-on-month n December, off c al data revealed on December 28. December’s f gure was up two percent, to 75.2 compared to last month, the Turk sh Stat st cal Inst tute sa dna statement. The ncrease was dr ven by mprovements n reta l trade, serv ces and real sector conf dence nd ces. The reta l trade ndex reg stered a r se of 6.3 percent wh le the serv ces and real sector nd ces followed w th ncreases of 2.2 percent and 0.9 percent, respect vely. The sub- ndex track ng consumer conf dence decl ned by 2.3 percent on a monthly bas s to 58.2 n December. The construct on conf dence ndex dropped by 2.1 percent dur ng the same per od.
