Ulker sells its last shares in Aktul to Topbas
Yildiz Holding, one of the leading hygiene paper manufacturers which started production in Sakarya in 2011 and reached a value of billion liras in 7 years, has sold its 33 percent share in Aktul Kagit to the Topbas Family, BIM and Tahir Pazarlama, which now takes over full control of the company. Over the past decade, Yildiz Holding, led by the Ulker Family, has made some of Turkey’s biggest breakthroughs in the snacks and confectionary sector, incorporating dozens of brands such as Godiva, DeMet’s Candy and United Biscuits and expanding its global reach.
The Holding, meanwhile, has put some of its businesses on sale, re-focusing its business on the retail and snack sector. It has sold its activities in many areas from carbonated drinks to dairy products. Now, Aktul Kagit, one of the leading manufacturers of the hygiene sector, has been added to this list.
With its 140 square meter production facility, Aktul Kagit is an important company in hygienic paper products, producing toilet paper, paper towels, handkerchiefs and napkins such as Komili Comfort, Komili Yuvam. Aktul also produces private label products for many market chains. In addition, the company produces jumbo bobbins under the Komili Profeyonel brand.
Eczac bas Group loses purchase
According to the information I have received, Yildiz Holding’s share, with a value of approximately TRY 1 billion, initially received an offer from Eczacibasi Group. The process was ended with a last minute decision. BIM and its shareholders Mustafa Latif Topbas, Ahmet Arif Topbaş and Tahir Pazarlama, purchased the remaining Yildiz Holding share in the company. Yildiz Holding will spend a portion of its revenue from the sale of its shares for the payment of syndicated loans and some of it for growing the main business such as snacks and retail and creating a new brand.
Yildiz Holding is one of the three biggest biscuit producers in the world and continues its steps towards becoming a global player in chocolates and other snack products.
