Tamek exports $25 million in 2018
Tamek, which exports to 70 countries with its 111 product portfolio in food and fruit juice, scored $25 million worth exports in 2018. Tamek, which aims to increase its sales to the U.S., Japan, Australia, Canada, Denmark and Germany this year, also plans to increase the share of food group products. Growing at 20 percent over the last two years, the company will follow a parallel growth strategy in 2019.
Tamek Sales and Marketing Director, Taner Cetin, said that the company sells 267 products in the domestic market and 111 to foreign markets. Tamek, which uses 67 percent of its 338,000-tonnes production capacity, exports 16 percent of its production to 70 countries. Cetin said that they devoted 2016 to a ‘less imports-more exports’ strategy and increased exports by 51 percent in 2017 with their existing and new products. “We closed 2017 with a turnover of $20 million and in terms of 2018 exports, we reached a turnover of $25 million. This year, we are trying to increase our sales in the U.S., Japan, Australia, Canada, Denmark and Germany. We mainly sell juice in almost all our markets. We are also working to increase the share of our food group products in exports,” he said.
