Turkish firms ranked among top 100 defense companies
Turkish companies secured their positions on the most prestigious defense industry list, Defense News Top 100. In 2018, Turkey’s defense giants posted nearly $4 billion in revenues, according to the U.S.-based magazine’s annual list, based on company sales, released on July 22. The country’s largest defense electronics company, Aselsan, ranked 52nd in the list, up from 55th last year, with $1.8 billion in revenues. Aselsan is active in military and civil telecommunications, radar, electronic warfare, defense, weapons, command and control and navigation systems. Aviation company TAI ranked 69th with $1.05 billion revenue while defense technology firm STM and vehicle producer BMC came in 85th and 86th, with $564.8 million and $554.2 million in revenues, respectively. Missile producer, Roketsan, which ranked 89th on the list, recorded revenues of $522.8 million. It was the 96th in the previous list.
