Dünya Executive - - OVERVIEW -

is more than 1.5 times the Turkey average. The rentiers are followed by entrepreneurs who spend 30 percent above the average. The spending level of wage earners is 6 percent above the average. Pensioners have a spending level of 82.5 percent of the average.

While the share of both laborers and entrepreneurs in total household consumption expenditures decreased, the share of pensioners and rentiers increased. The number of laborer households increased above the average while the decrease in the share of total consumption was a sign of a general decline in wages. The decrease in the share of consumption of those with entrepreneurial income is a result of bankruptcy and shutdowns and the decrease in the number of households in this segment. The increase in the share of consumption of retirees reflects the increase in the number of families who have to live with retirement income against increasing unemployment. When we look at the real changes in average consumption expenditure per household, the most striking development is that the average consumption of households living on wages, salaries and daily wages decreased by 2.34 percent in real terms.
