DOMESTIC APPLIANCE EXPORTS DECLINE 49 PERCENT IN APRIL
Domestic appliance exports fell by 49 percent in April compared to the same month of last year, according to the White Goods Manufacturers’ Association of Turkey (TURKBESD). Exports of refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, freezers, and dryers decreased by 49 percent to 847,367 in April. During the same period, domestic sales fell by 11 percent to 549,752 and production declined by 52 percent to 732,123. Domestic sales increased by five percent during the January-April period compared to the same period last
year while exports contracted 11 percent on an annual basis.
