Solarkol begins PV inverter production
SOLARKOL ENERGY, under Kologlu Holding, has begun domestic PV (photovoltaic) inverter production, which increases solar power output, with 100 percent domestic capital and technology. The inverter products vary between 10kW, 25kW, 27.6kW, and 33kW, according to Ilker Olucak, the Chairman of Solarkol. “We aim to manufacture modern products which increase solar energy output to a maximum and decrease the maintenance and operation costs to a minimum at the same time. The inverters produced by Solarkol eliminate losses generated from the lack of coordination between modules, Olucak said, adding that these new products will provide innovations such as safe closing, step by step activation through integrated communication hardware and tracking of system performance on a modular basis.
The photovoltaic sector is on the path to becoming the main source of electricity production, according to Olucak. “These PV systems meet 17 percent of electricity needs, except electric equipment in buildings and cooking equipment. They can provide electricity for 11 percent of all the primary energy needs,” he said. Olucak also added that domestic inverter usage may have a positive impact on the current account deficit in the range of $60,000 per MW and that 1 GW GES usage prevents an annual natural gas import of $110 million.
