High electricity costs trouble industrialists

are suffering from INDUSTRIALISTS high electricity costs because of the Renewable Energy Support Mechanism (YEKDEM). While electricity consumption in organized industrial zones decreased due to the outbreak, electricity costs for industries has increased 46 percent in the last two months.

Hilmi Ugurtas, President of the Association of •rganized Industrial Zones (•SBDER) called for fixed YEKDEM pricing to support industrialists facing issues in production and sales. Industrialists determined the costs of their orders three months ago but now face massive increases in energy costs, according to Ugurtas. “The rising electricity bills are increasing costs in sectors that consume a high amount of energy.”
