Turkish agriculture loses global leader
Hakan Bahceci, the founder of Hakan Agro, passed away of a heart attack on May 25. The company he established, based in Dubai, where he settled at a young age, is among the top 20 in the global agricultural industry and one of the largest companies in Dubai outside of the oil industry. Specializing in trade activities in 100 countries with a focus on cereals, pulses, vegetable oil and white meat, Hakan Agro achieved a business volume of $2 billion last year and has invested in the Turkish agricultural sector.
