Microsoft to open a data center in Turkey
Microsoft Turkey LEVENT OZBILGIN, General Manager, announced that Microsoft was working toward investing in a data center in Turkey. Revealing Microsoft Turkey’s growth strategy for the upcoming period in an online press conference, •zbilgin stated that, as the new general manager of the company, he wants to focus not only on selling products to Turkey but also making investments in the country. Microsoft opened four new data centers in the Middle East and Africa in the previous year, •zbilgin noted. “We are in contact with our stakeholders about the potential level of foreign direct investment that will arise from the establishment of a data center in Turkey,” he said.
•zbilgin added that he would like to convince the world that Turkey has great potential and technological strength. “Every institution should increase its technological strength in order to prepare for the future,” he said. “Remote education has been an extremely effective tool for skill-building. In this field, we make serious contributions to individuals and organizations in areas such as AI, cloud computing and machine learning through our competence building programs such as Cloud Society. •n the public side, our negotiations and collaborations continue, particularly with the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Education.”
