“FLOWERS OF HOPE” FOR THE TURKISH MUSIC

Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory of Turkish Music Department Prof. Dr. Selahattin İçli Children’s Choir

Prof. Dr. Selahattin İçli Children’s Choir, formed of students studying at the Music Secondary School/ Music and Performing Arts High School – a branch of Istanbul Technical University’s State Conservatory of Turkish Music Department (TMDK) did release an album named “Umut Çiçekleri”, which can be translated to English as the Flowers of Hope. As the first state conservatory for Turkish music, the İTU TMDK is dedicated to bring up artists and to produce works of art in furtherance of Turkish music and its future. The album contains 13 pieces performed by children, the future of our music. N. Yeşim Altınel Çoban and Şirin Karadeniz are the general art directors of the album. The pieces were arranged by Şirin Karadeniz Güney and Orkun Zafer Özgelen.
